During China-Cambodia People-to-People Exchange Year, Vice President Wu Xuelin Leads Delegation to Cambodia for Academic Exchange

From May 27-31, Vice President Wu Xuelin led a three-member delegation to Cambodia, marking the 2024 China-Cambodia People-to-People Exchange Year. The team engaged with New Generation High School in Phnom Penh, the Confucius Institute at Battambang University, Conch Cement's Battambang operations, and Regional Polytechnic Institute Techo Sen Battambang(RPITSB) to advance educational collaboration and industry-academia partnerships.

On May 28, the delegation hosted a "People-to-People Connectivity & Cultural Exchange Forum" at Phnom Penh's New Generation High School. During the event, Vice President Wu Xuelin presented an overview of the college's international education programs and proposed future collaboration opportunities in cultural exchange. Principal Som Kason expressed admiration for the college's campus environment, training facilities, and achievements in international education, while encouraging students to participate in exchange programs to enhance their Chinese language proficiency and technical skills development at our institution.

On the morning of May 29, the delegation was warmly received by Professor Yi Yongzhong, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, and faculty representatives at the Confucius Institute of Battambang University. Both sides held in-depth discussions on developing specialized "Chinese + Vocational" courses, summer camps in China, short-term training programs, and graduate employment opportunities.

On the afternoon of May 29, the delegation visited Conch Cement (Battambang) Co., Ltd., the first large-scale cement enterprise invested by China's Anhui Conch Group in Cambodia. Assistant General Manager Liu Hui and Office Director Liu Kewei extended a warm welcome to the delegation. Both parties discussed the demand for skilled professionals in Chinese-invested enterprises and career development opportunities for Cambodian students. They agreed to enhance practical cooperation in student training, internships, and employment initiatives.

On May 30, the delegation visited RPITSB to enhance the development of our Cambodia Yalong Silk Road College and consolidate our international education achievements. Director Chhim Thoeun extended a warm welcome and hosted a meeting with over 100 faculty and student representatives.

Vice President Wu Xuelin expressed sincere gratitude for the warm reception from RPITSB, encouraging students to fully utilize the Cambodia Yalong Silk Road College as a platform to master Chinese language and technical skills, which would pave the way for a brilliant future. Following the meeting, Wu Xuelin and his delegation engaged in in-depth discussions with Director Chhim Thoeun, faculty, and student representatives on enhancing partnership models, revising the electrical automation talent development program, and improving student internship and employment opportunities, culminating in an insightful visit to the institute's hands-on training classrooms where they observed practical skill development in action.
