Digital Dialogue on the Silk Road: Shaping a Shared Future

On April 18 at 10:00 AM Beijing time, Our College hosted an online working session with Cambodia Regional Polytechnic Institute Techo Sen Battambang(RPITSB) and Yalong Intelligent Equipment Group Co., Ltd to enhance the development of the Cambodia Yalong Silk Road College, improve partner coordination, and expand international education initiatives. Key Participants included Chhim Thoeun, Director of (RPITSB), along with Vice Presidents Sam Sophy, Sean Sarith, Sik Darith, Kim Chamroeun, and Sin Ra, accompanied by senior administrators, Chen Jiquan, Chairman of Yalong Intelligent Equipment Group Co., Ltd and senior executives,  Chen Hailiang(meeting chair), President of Our College, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Zhang Yugang, Vice President Wu Xuelin, Vice President Cheng Xiaohui, International Office Director, and faculty representatives.

During the virtual meeting, representatives from all three organizations reflected on the Silk Road College's successful track record since its establishment. Director Chhim Thoeun of RPITSB recognized the Silk Road College 's dual impact: "Through this joint initiative with Guizhou Vocational and Technical College of Water Resources and Hydropower and Yalong Intelligent Equipment Group Co., Ltd, we've modernized our training infrastructure while creating valuable opportunities for Cambodian students to develop technical skills and Chinese language proficiency."

He emphasized that the dialogue represented a significant step forward in our partnership. We were committed to strengthening collaboration to advance vocational education and enhance both technical capabilities and language training at our institute.

The three parties held a virtual convening

Chen Jiquan highlighted the successful partnership between the three parties and outlined concrete plans to strengthen collaboration. It will advance through four key initiatives: curriculum standardization, tailored resource development, cross-border teacher training, and competitive student events.

Chen Hailiang emphasized the strategic importance of the Silk Road College partnership during the China-Cambodia People-to-Exchange Year, outlining three key cooperation priorities with RPITSB: enhancing Chinese companies' overseas operations through workforce development, jointly establishing industry-aligned professional and curricular standards, and building sustainable institutional partnerships while expressing particular anticipation for continuing these strategic discussions in person at the upcoming China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week to further align institutional objectives with regional development needs.

The meeting was held in a constructive and collegial atmosphere, with all three parties reaching consensus on advancing the Silk Road College's curriculum development, faculty training programs, and student career support initiatives.
